About Michelle Hamilton

Michelle (she/her) is an experienced educator, leader, manager, designer and strategist with over 20 years’ experience in the education, community, cultural and philanthropic sectors. Having taught and held leadership positions in schools, Michelle has also worked extensively in learning design, project management, leadership and strategy  beyond schools. 

Equally passionate about learning and wellbeing, Michelle currently works as a consultant to schools, community and cultural organisations, philanthropic trusts and other companies on projects that seek to transform Australian education to be more inclusive, mentally healthy, creative and collaborative. Michelle specialises in the co-design of projects and programs, evidence based design and delivery, genuine stakeholder and community engagement, project monitoring and reviewing.

Michelle has led a national education agenda at the Foundation for Young Australians, designed a new strategic approach to education and community engagement as Director of Education and Community Engagement for the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra, designed student and professional learning initiatives for the State Library of Victoria (Australian Learning Lecture), led a strategic review of Kingswood College (Secondary) and a co-design of a future ready learning plan, consulted on the design, monitoring and review of Beyond Blue’s Be You Bushfire Response Program for schools and early learning services, developed national stakeholder engagement plans for the expansion of Smiling Mind’s education work nationally and convened a social lab as part of Learning Creates Australia’s work in designing a new recognition system for Australian education.
